October 27, 2005 Press Release GLOBE COMPOSITE SOLUTIONS AWARDED FEDERAL TECHNOLOGY TRAINING GRANT NIST Grant Aimed at Developing Advanced Technologies and Manufacturing Capabilities Rockland MA, October 27, 2005 – Globe Composite Solutions, Ltd. announced today that it has been awarded a federal grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to identify and implement advanced manufacturing technologies. This $65,000 grant, which will be administered through the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership program, is supported by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce and Commonwealth of Massachusetts. MEP is a nationwide network of resources dedicated to transforming small and medium size manufacturers to compete globally, supporting greater supply chain integration, and providing access to technology for improved productivity. In March, Globe received a State of Massachusetts Workforce Training Grant to enhance the skill base of its professional and production employees. Using this grant, the Company has already implemented LEAN, KAIZEN and 5S manufacturing processes as well as other educational and training programs. The Workforce Training Fund provides companies with the resources to invest in the workforce and improve employee skills, and to maintain the economic strength and viability of the Commonwealth's businesses. “We want to bring new technologies into Globe that will allow us to leverage the improvements we have experienced in our manufacturing processes as a result of the Massachusetts Workforce Training grant”, said Carl W.
