GLOBE COMPOSITE SOLUTIONS AWARDED TRAINING GRANT

Company awarded $149,460 to better equip local workforce for the 21st century

Rockland MA, March 3, 2005 – Globe Composite Solutions, Ltd. announced today that it has been awarded a State of Massachusetts Workforce Training Grant in the amount of $149,460. These funds will be used to match the investment the company plans to make over the next 24-months to increase the skill base of it professional and production employees. The range of planned education and training programs include 3-D design and finite-element analysis, LEAN manufacturing processes and ISO certification training.

The Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund is a state fund financed entirely by employers, and enacted into law in July 1998. Its purpose is to provide resources to Massachusetts businesses and workers to train current and newly hired employees. The mission of the Workforce Training Fund is to provide companies with the resources to invest in the Massachusetts workforce and improve employee skills, and to maintain the economic strength and viability of the Commonwealth's businesses. The fund's major focus is on small to medium-sized businesses.

“We are pleased that Globe was selected by the Advisory Panel to receive this grant which we will use to improve our position in the highly technical field of engineered composite products,” said Carl W. Forsythe, President and CEO of Globe. “This grant allows Globe to remain at the leading edge of providing cost-effective non-metallic solutions by co-investing in our people to give them additional skills and tools to expand our development and manufacturing capabilities”, he added.

Globe Composite Solutions, Ltd. recently acquired the assets of Globe Rubber Works, Inc. in Rockland, MA. The company’s research & development, manufacturing and assembly operations are located in the Boston area and its executive offices are located in Dallas, TX. The company serves a diverse customer base including General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, Siemens, US Postal Service, GE Medical Systems, FKI Logistex, United Parcel Service, Vanderlande and Bowe/Bell & Howell.
