A client was using metallic piston-actuated tipper arms for conveyor systems. These assemblies were noisy, had many parts and would generally last 1-2 million cycles. Globe Composite Solutions, Ltd. ("GCS") developed a non-metallic solution that incorporated several distinct parts into a single assembly and eliminated the need for wheel bearings altogether. Now, the redesigned part has 50% fewer parts, weighs 2/3 less and has surpassed more than 7-8 million cycles at greatly reduced costs.
